Can I renew my CR for five years?

The situation

CR and licence can be renewed for one to five years, with fees charged per year.

The law

  • Commercial Registry Law (renewal and changes): Renew within 30 days before expiry; notify changes within 30 days; entry can be deleted 90 days after notice if not renewed
  • Ministerial Decision No. 60 of 2024 (MOCI fees): CR and commercial licence fees cut to QAR 500 a year each; home business licence QAR 300

What it means for you

Five years for one activity and one licence costs about 5 x QAR 1,000 = QAR 5,000 in MOCI fees, plus Qatar Chamber fees. You pay fees for every year selected but file once. Keep the CR and licence periods the same so a gap in one does not block the other.

  4. Diary the new expiry.
