Pension and work injury branches use a wage ceiling of OMR 3,000 a month.

The law

  • Social Protection Law, Royal Decree 52/2023: Omani staff: employer 14.5 percent, employee 8 percent; ceiling OMR 3,000 for pension and injury; pay by the 15th of next month

Pension and work injury contributions use a ceiling of OMR 3,000 a month; job security and leave branches have no ceiling. For an Omani on OMR 4,000, pension is computed on OMR 3,000. Check each branch's base.

What to do

  1. Apply the OMR 3,000 ceiling to pension and injury.
  2. Compute other branches on full wage.
  3. Pay by the 15th.
  4. Review when wages change.
