How much is deducted from an Omani employee's salary?

The situation

The employee pays 8 percent: 7.5 percent pension and 0.5 percent job security.

The law

  • Social Protection Law, Royal Decree 52/2023: Omani staff: employer 14.5 percent, employee 8 percent; ceiling OMR 3,000 for pension and injury; pay by the 15th of next month

What it means for you

The employee pays 7.5 percent for pension and 0.5 percent for job security. On OMR 900 gross, the deduction is OMR 72. Show it on the payslip; the employer pays it to the Fund with its own share.
