Old PASI rates

Our payroll still uses old PASI rates. Is that wrong?

The situation

The Social Protection Law replaced the old PASI contribution rates.

The law

  • Social Protection Law, Royal Decree 52/2023: Omani staff: employer 14.5 percent, employee 8 percent; ceiling OMR 3,000 for pension and injury; pay by the 15th of next month

What it means for you

The Social Protection Law replaced the old PASI rates. For Omanis, use 14.5 percent employer and 8 percent employee, and add the expatriate branches. If payroll used old rates, compute the difference and pay it.

What to do

  1. Update payroll to SPF rates.
  2. Recompute past months on old rates.
  3. Pay any difference to the Fund.
  4. Document the correction.

We can do this for youSocial Protection Fund registration and monthly contributions: OMR 60
