Late BPJS payment

Kami telat bayar iuran BPJS. Apa akibatnya?

The situation

Late contributions carry late charges, and members' benefits can be affected. Repeated non payment leads to sanctions.

The law

  • Art 14 and 15, Law 24/2011 on BPJS: Every person, including a foreigner working at least 6 months in Indonesia, must join; employers must register their workers and pay contributions
  • Perpres 82/2018 on health insurance, as amended by Perpres 64/2020 and Perpres 59/2024: Wage earner contribution is 5 percent of monthly wage (4 percent employer, 1 percent employee) up to a wage cap of IDR 12,000,000

What it means for you

For health, a worker may face restrictions on benefits until arrears are paid. Pay quickly and check your account. Health contributions are due by the 10th and employment contributions by the 15th of the next month. Example: a missed month for 5 staff can block health service for them until paid.

What to do

  1. Pay arrears now.
  2. Check late charges.
  3. Confirm members are active.
  4. Fix payroll timing.

Workers can complain to the labour office.
