How long is the GTA NOC valid for cancelling our CR?

The situation

Since 2025, the NOC for CR cancellation is valid for 90 days.

The law

  • GTA announcement on certificate validity (June 2025): Tax compliance certificate valid one year; NOC for CR cancellation valid 90 days; NOC for change of ownership valid 180 days

What it means for you

If you get the NOC on 1 March, finish the MOCI cancellation by about 30 May. If it expires, you must request a new one, which may mean updated filings.

What to do

  1. Prepare MOCI documents before requesting the NOC.
  2. Request the NOC.
  3. Cancel the CR within 90 days.
  4. Keep the NOC copy.
