Individual micro business getting an NIB
Saya jualan makanan di rumah. Perlu NIB?
The situation
An NIB is free and simple for micro businesses run by individuals. It helps with bank loans, marketplaces and halal or food permits.
The law
- PP 28/2025 on risk-based business licensing: Replaces PP 5/2021; licences through OSS by risk level, with service level deadlines and automatic approval when an agency does not act in time
- PP 7/2021 on ease, protection and empowerment of MSMEs: Micro: capital up to IDR 1 billion or sales up to IDR 2 billion; small: capital to IDR 5 billion or sales to IDR 15 billion; medium: capital to IDR 10 billion or sales to IDR 50 billion
What it means for you
A home food business is micro if capital is up to IDR 1 billion excluding land and buildings or yearly sales up to IDR 2 billion. Register as an individual in OSS with your NIK and choose the right food KBLI. Food products may also need a home industry food permit (PIRT) or other checks, shown in OSS.
What to do
- Create an OSS account with your NIK.
- Choose the food KBLI and micro scale.
- Get the NIB.
- Complete any food safety steps OSS shows.
An NIB does not replace food safety permits.
