What GST rate do we charge?

The situation

GST is 9% from 1 January 2024.

The law

  • Sec 16, Goods and Services Tax Act 1993: GST charged at 9% from 1 January 2024

What it means for you

Charge 9% on standard-rated supplies. Zero-rated exports at 0%. Supplies of exempt items such as some financial services and residential property are not charged GST. Make sure invoices show GST separately and your GST number.

  2. Identify zero-rated.
  3. Train staff.
  4. Review.
