Sijilat blocks renewal due to a violation
Sijilat is not letting me renew my CR. It shows a violation. What do I do?
The situation
Violations such as missing audited accounts or an unfiled ES return block online services and renewal.
The law
- Commercial Companies Law and MOIC requirements: audited financial statements: WLLs, BSCs, partnerships limited by shares and foreign branches file audited statements through Sijilat within six months of year end, signed by two directors, audited by an MOIC licensed firm
- Economic substance rules: return deadline: ES return due within 3 months of financial year end; MOIC records a CR violation for non-filing
What it means for you
Find the violation type first. A missing audited accounts filing is cleared by uploading the final signed report and requesting removal. A missing ES return needs the return filed. Fines continue if the CR passes expiry, so act quickly.
What to do
- Open the violation detail on Sijilat.
- File the missing item.
- Request violation removal.
- Renew once cleared.
