Can staff renew the CR without a power of attorney

My office manager handles Sijilat. Does she need a notarised power of attorney?

The situation

Order 62 of 2024 allows a standard authorisation instead of an official power of attorney for submissions by the registrant's employees and recognised professional bodies.

The law

  • Ministerial Order No. 62 of 2024: A standard authorisation can replace a power of attorney for filings by recognised professional bodies or the registrant's staff; deleted CRs may be reinstated at any time if conditions are met

What it means for you

This lowers cost and time for routine filings like renewals. Keep the authorisation current and limited to the services needed. For major changes like share transfers, check whether notarised documents are still required.

What to do

  1. Issue a standard authorisation to the employee.
  2. Link it on Sijilat.
  3. Limit scope to routine filings.
  4. Review it yearly.
