New activity changes Bahrainisation
We added a new activity to our CR. Does our Bahrainisation target change?
The situation
Targets are set by approved activity, so adding activities can change your required ratio.
The law
- Cabinet Resolution No. 27 of 2016 as amended by Resolution No. 2 of 2019 (Parallel Bahrainisation): Employers below their Bahrainisation target can still get permits by paying BHD 500 (two years) or BHD 250 (one year) extra per permit
- Commercial Registration Law, Decree-Law No. 27 of 2015 (amended by Decree-Law 52 of 2018 and Law 9 of 2022): Every commercial activity needs a CR issued through Sijilat; a CR is deleted if required licences are not obtained within one year

Targets are set by approved activity, so adding activities can change your required ratio. Recheck your status on the LMRA portal after any CR amendment and before the next permit request.
