Same interest or dividend shown twice in AIS

Find

AIS can show the same income twice, for example once from the bank's SFT report and once from TDS data. Mark one entry as 'Information is duplicate/included in other information'. Report the income only once in your return.

Provisions

Sec 285BB (now Sec 510); Rule 114-I, Income-tax Rules 1962

Analysis

Compare amounts, dates and the reporting entity. If FD interest of ₹65,000 appears under TDS (194A) and again under SFT interest, mark the SFT entry as duplicate of the TDS entry. TIS will then show ₹65,000, not ₹1,30,000. If the amounts differ slightly, use 'not fully correct' with the right figure instead.
