E-invoicing dates for a small business
My company has AED 8 million revenue. When does e-invoicing apply to me?
The situation
Businesses with revenue below AED 50 million must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027.
The law
- Ministerial Decision 244 of 2025 as amended by Ministerial Decision 66 of 2026: Phased timeline: AED 50 million and above live 1 January 2027; others 1 July 2027; government 1 October 2027
What it means for you
You can join voluntarily earlier, since the system opened for voluntary use from 1 July 2026. Example: a AED 8 million trader should shortlist ASPs by end 2026, sign by March 2027, and test from April to June 2027. The MoF has said no further extensions will be granted.
What to do
- Confirm your revenue band.
- Shortlist ASPs that support your software.
- Sign before 31 March 2027.
- Test and go live on 1 July 2027.
