Year one compliance calendar
What filings will my new Qatar company face in its first year?
The situation
A new company has CR and licence renewals, monthly WHT, annual tax return, audit where required and WPS payroll.
The law
- Commercial Registry Law (renewal and changes): Renew within 30 days before expiry; notify changes within 30 days; entry can be deleted 90 days after notice if not renewed
- Law No. 24 of 2018 on Income Tax (withholding tax): 5 percent WHT on interest, royalties, technical fees, commissions and service fees paid to non-residents with no Qatar PE; remit by the 16th of the next month
- Law No. 24 of 2018 on Income Tax (tax returns): Return due within four months after the accounting period ends; GTA may extend by up to four months
- Wage Protection System (Ministry of Labour): Wages paid through banks via WPS so the Ministry can check timely payment
