Simplified return thresholds for Qatari companies

Which Qatari companies can use the simplified tax return?

The situation

The GTA introduced a simplified return for exempt Qatari and GCC owned companies below set capital and revenue thresholds.

The law

  • Law No. 24 of 2018 and GTA filing rules for Qatari and GCC owned entities: The share of profit owned by Qatari and GCC nationals is exempt, but the entity still files

What it means for you

The GTA announcement in 2021 set the simplified route for share capital below QAR 1 million and annual revenue below QAR 5 million. Some 2026 commentary quotes QAR 2 million and QAR 10 million. Because the sources differ, check the form Dhareeba offers your entity and keep a note of the figures used. A company at QAR 4 million revenue and QAR 500,000 capital falls under either version.

What to do

  1. Check capital and revenue for the year.
  2. See which form Dhareeba offers.
  3. If above the threshold, prepare audited accounts.
  4. Record the basis in your file.

We can do this for youTax return for a fully Qatari or GCC owned company (simplified or full return): QAR 3,000
