Analysis
Once verified, processing under Sec 143(1) (now Sec 270(1)) usually takes a few weeks. Check status under e-File, View Filed Returns, and refund status on the portal. If you have an old demand, CPC may propose to adjust the refund under Sec 245 and will ask you to respond. Make sure your PAN is linked to Aadhaar, or the refund can be withheld.
