What trips people up

  • Reporting only the profit, or missing capital losses, or wrong holding period

Report each transfer with sale value, cost and dates from the broker statement and reconcileSource

  • Trusting AIS sale values blindly

AIS shows gross sale values only; verify against your own statements before filingSource

  • Shares bought before 31 January 2018 entered in aggregate

Scrip-wise details are mandatory in Schedule 112A for such sharesSource

  • Each land or building sale clubbed together

Each land or building transfer must be entered separately in Schedule CGSource

  • Old 10% and 15% rates or 23 July 2024 split expected in the form

AY 2026-27 form removed the split; the utility applies 20% and 12.5% by transfer dateSource
