Real estate broker and goAML

I run a small real estate brokerage. Do I need to register on goAML?

The situation

Yes. Real estate brokers and agents are DNFBPs under the AML law and must register on goAML and meet AML duties.

The law

  • Federal Decree-Law 10 of 2025: AML obligations for designated non-financial businesses
  • goAML registration requirement: Registration on goAML is mandatory

What it means for you

MoET has suspended firms for failing to register. You also need a compliance officer, a risk assessment and customer checks for buyers and sellers. Example: a 3-agent brokerage should register, appoint the owner or a senior agent as compliance officer, and screen every client against sanctions lists.

What to do

  1. Register on goAML after supervisor approval.
  2. Appoint a resident compliance officer.
  3. Write a risk assessment.
  4. Screen every client and keep records for at least 5 years.

We can do this for youAML for DNFBPs: goAML registration, compliance officer, risk assessment, customer checks and reporting: AED 3,500
