Accounting firm as a DNFBP
We are an accounting firm. Do AML rules apply to us?
The situation
Yes. Accountants and auditors are DNFBPs supervised by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism for AML purposes.
The law
- Cabinet Resolution 134 of 2025: Accountants and auditors listed as DNFBPs
What it means for you
Duties apply when you carry out certain activities for clients, such as managing funds or company formation, and firms are generally expected to register and run a programme. Example: a firm that forms companies and keeps books for clients must do customer checks on owners and screen them. This applies to TaxSavvy's own UAE practice too.
What to do
- Register on goAML.
- Appoint a compliance officer.
- Add AML checks to client onboarding.
- Keep records and train staff.
We can do this for youAML for DNFBPs: goAML registration, compliance officer, risk assessment, customer checks and reporting: AED 3,500
