Green visa for freelancers
I am a freelance designer. What do I need for a green visa?
The situation
The green visa gives a 5-year self-sponsored residence. Freelancers need a bachelor's degree or specialised diploma, and income of at least AED 360,000 in each of the previous two years, or proof of financial solvency.

What it means for you
You usually first need a freelance permit from MOHRE or a licence. Example: a designer who earned AED 380,000 and AED 400,000 in the last two years, with a design degree, meets the income and education tests. Remember that freelance business income above AED 1 million a year also brings Corporate Tax registration.

- Get a freelance permit or licence.
- Collect two years of income proof.
- Attest your degree.
