Can my accountant file LLP changes for us?

The situation

Filing ACRA transactions for others is a corporate service. The accountant must be a registered CSP unless an exemption applies.

The law

  • Corporate Service Providers Act 2024: Anyone filing ACRA transactions or providing corporate services for others must register with ACRA as a CSP

What it means for you

Public accounting entities are exempt only if they do not file for others. Partners can file for their own LLP. Check registration before handing over Singpass access.

What to do

  1. Ask if the accountant is a registered CSP.
  2. Check ACRA records.
  3. Or file as a partner yourself.
  4. Never share Singpass.
