Missed the employer reporting deadline
We forgot to submit employee income by 1 March. What now?
The situation
Late or missing employer returns can attract penalties under the Income Tax Act 1947, and staff may face wrong assessments.
The law
- Income Tax Act 1947: employer returns (IR8A, AIS): Employers report employees' income to IRAS by 1 March each year
What it means for you
Submit through AIS at once. If you are not in AIS, give IR8A forms to staff so they can file. IRAS may compound the offence; quick action usually helps.
What to do
- Submit all records now.
- Give staff their forms if not in AIS.
- Pay any composition fine.
- Diarise 1 March next year.
We can do this for youEmployer year-end reporting: IR8A and AIS: SGD 300
