IRAS objection to strike off
IRAS objected to our strike off application. Why?
The situation
IRAS may object if returns are outstanding or tax is unpaid.
The law
- Sec 344A, Companies Act 1967: Application to the Registrar to strike off a company
- Sec 62, Income Tax Act 1947: Every company and individual files an income tax return when required by IRAS
What it means for you
File outstanding ECI, Form C-S and GST returns and pay any tax. Then IRAS can lift its objection. IRAS may also need final GST returns. Once cleared, ACRA can continue.
What to do
- Check IRAS records.
- File outstanding returns.
- Pay tax.
- Re-apply.
