Answer in brief

You need a GSTIN once your turnover crosses the limit or your type of business makes registration compulsory. We check which route fits, prepare the address and identity papers so the officer has nothing to query, file REG-01, guide you through Aadhaar or biometric checks, and answer any query until the certificate is issued.

Every paid answer is checked by a CA. Free AI answers are labelled until a CA verifies them.

What trips people up

  • Premises offered by a lessee or relative, bill not in owner's name, consent letter rejected

  • Address in form does not match the uploaded proof

Type the address exactly as on the bill or agreement before submittingSource

  • Application delayed to 30 days even after Aadhaar authentication

The portal can flag cases for physical verification on risk; keep premises ready and track statusSource

  • Rejected after field visit: no one present, shared address, no records

Keep signboard and an authorised person at the premises; reapply after fixing, or appeal in APL-01 within 3 monthsSource

  • Officer asks for documents not required by law, such as Udyam or trade licence for a home office

Supply what is genuinely required and point to CBIC Instruction 03/2025-GST, which limits document demandsSource

  • Aadhaar name does not match PAN record

Correct the PAN or Aadhaar name first; mismatch triggers a failure noticeSource
