Employee registered late
We forgot to register a new employee on GOSI for 2 months. What now?
The situation
Employees must be registered with GOSI from the start of employment. Contributions are due for the whole period worked, including months before a late registration.
The law
- GOSI contribution rules: Old system Saudis 9.75 percent employee and 11.75 percent employer; non-Saudis 2 percent employer (hazards); wage base capped at SAR 45,000
What it means for you
Register the employee with the true start date and pay the back contributions for the two months. GOSI can charge for late registration, so check the invoice. The employee was without injury cover in that period, which is a risk in itself.
