Extending a work KITAS

KITAS TKA kami mau habis. Kapan urus perpanjangan?

The situation

Extensions need an extended RPTKA, DKP-TKA payment for the new period, and an immigration extension before the KITAS expires.

The law

  • PP 34/2021 on use of foreign workers: RPTKA procedure, compensation fund (DKP-TKA) of USD 100 per worker per month, Indonesian companion and training duties
  • Law 6/2011 on Immigration, as amended by Law 63/2024: Foreigners staying to work or invest need the right visa and a limited stay permit (KITAS)

What it means for you

Start 2 months early. Overstay is charged per day. Each extension also needs a fresh DKP-TKA payment for the new period. Example: a KITAS ending 30 September should be in process by early August. Missing the date can mean leaving the country and starting again.

What to do

  1. Check expiry dates.
  2. Extend RPTKA.
  3. Pay DKP-TKA.
  4. Extend the KITAS.

Overstay fines and possible deportation follow late action.
