Digital certificate needed to sign returns
Coretax won't let me submit my return, it asks for a sertifikat elektronik. What is that?
The situation
Coretax returns are signed with an electronic certificate or a DJP authorisation code linked to your account. You request it once in Coretax.
The law
- PMK 81/2024 on tax provisions for implementing the Core Tax Administration System (Coretax): In force 1 January 2025; Coretax registration, returns, payment due dates aligned to the 15th of the following month, prepopulated returns and deposit balance
What it means for you
The certificate is your digital signature for returns and slips. You request it in Portal Saya using your passphrase and a face check. Without it, you can draft returns but not submit them. Request it well before 31 March, as approval is usually quick but can take longer in peak weeks.
What to do
- Log in to Coretax.
- Open Portal Saya and choose the request for authorisation code or electronic certificate.
- Enter your passphrase and complete the verification.
- Check the certificate status shows active before filing.
If you forget the passphrase, reset it before the deadline.
