Find

If a transaction belongs to another person, choose 'Information relates to other PAN/Year' and give that PAN. For joint purchases, each owner's share should be reflected for that owner.

Provisions

Sec 285BB (now Sec 510); Rule 114-I, Income-tax Rules 1962

Analysis

Check the sale deed. If your wife is the only buyer, give her PAN in the feedback. If you are joint owners at 50% each and AIS shows the full ₹70,00,000 against you, mark it not fully correct and enter ₹35,00,000. Keep the deed and payment proofs, because the department may ask how the purchase was funded.
