InvoiceNow date for an existing GST company

We have been GST registered for years. When must we start InvoiceNow?

The situation

Existing registrants are phased by total supplies in returns for periods ending in 2025: S$200,000 or less from 1 April 2028, up to S$1 million from 1 April 2029, up to S$4 million from 1 April 2030, and above S$4 million from 1 April 2031.

The law

  • GST InvoiceNow Requirement (IRAS e-Tax Guide and FAQ): Voluntary registrants from 1 Apr 2026 must transmit invoice data through InvoiceNow; phased to all registrants by 1 Apr 2031

What it means for you

Total supplies means standard-rated, zero-rated and exempt supplies added together. Example: 2025 supplies of S$800,000 put you in the 1 April 2029 phase. The later phases were announced at the Committee of Supply 2026 and the law is to be enacted later.

What to do

  1. Add your 2025 supplies from GST returns.
  2. Find your phase date.
  3. Plan software changes a year ahead.
  4. Watch for the enacted law.
