Refund pending for months
Refund applied three months ago, no update. What can I do?
The situation
ZATCA reviews refund requests and can ask for documents. Delays often come from missing evidence or bank details.
The law
- VAT Implementing Regulations as amended 2025, refund rules: Refund eligibility, documents and correction of refund applications were updated; designated persons minimum refund SAR 5,000
What it means for you
Check portal messages for pending requests. Confirm the IBAN is in the company's name. If documents were asked and not sent, the clock may stop. Escalate through ZATCA channels with the reference number.
