Commercial registration no longer has an expiry date

Do I need to renew my CR every year?

The situation

Under the Commercial Register Law effective April 2025, a CR has no expiry date. Instead, the company must confirm its CR data every year.

The law

  • Commercial Register Law (published 4 October 2024, effective April 2025): CR has no expiry; data must be confirmed every year or the CR may be suspended or cancelled

What it means for you

Renewal is replaced by annual confirmation. If you miss the confirmation within the set timeframe, the CR can be suspended or cancelled, which then blocks banking and government services. Some guides still list a renewal fee; check what the Saudi Business Center shows for your CR.

What to do

  1. Note the confirmation date shown on your CR record.
  2. Log in each year and confirm or update the data.
  3. Keep the confirmation receipt for banks.

A suspended CR can freeze your bank account and portal services.
