Bank wants a chamber certificate to open the account. How do I get it?
The situation
Chamber certificates are issued by the regional chamber linked to your CR. New companies were given a three-year subscription fee exemption under the 2020 chambers system.
The law
- Chambers of Commerce Law (approved December 2020): Foreign investors may join chamber boards; new companies exempt from chamber fees for 3 years
What it means for you
Log in to your chamber's e-services with the CR, confirm the membership class and download the certificate. If a fee shows, check whether the new-company exemption applies. Keep a PDF for future bank and embassy requests.
