Should we use the MyInvois portal or connect our software?

The situation

MyInvois offers a free portal for manual issue and an API for systems. Both lead to validated e-invoices.

The law

  • Sec 82C, Income Tax Act 1967 and IRBM e-Invoice Guideline v4.8: Persons must issue e-invoices as specified by the Director General; exemption below RM3 million turnover from 1 Sep 2026

What it means for you

The portal suits low volume. Above a few dozen invoices a month, an API link through your accounting software saves time and errors. Test in sandbox first.
