Kuwaiti hiring commitments under KDIPA
Will KDIPA expect us to hire Kuwaitis?
The situation
KDIPA weighs benefits such as jobs and training for Kuwaitis. Law 19 of 2000 supports national employment in the private sector.
The law
- Law No. 116 of 2013 on the promotion of direct investment (KDIPA): KDIPA can licence up to 100% foreign owned entities and grant incentives including tax relief, outside the general 49% limit
- Law No. 19 of 2000 on supporting national manpower (NLST): 2.5% of net profit for Kuwaiti companies listed on Boursa Kuwait; the same law supports Kuwaiti employment in the private sector
