60 day extension for the Kuwait tax return

Our audit is late. Can we get more time for the Kuwait tax return?

The situation

An extension of up to 60 days may be requested in certain cases. With an extension, payment is due in full when it expires.

The law

  • Income Tax Law and Executive Bylaws: declaration and payment: Declaration due by the 15th day of the 4th month after year end; 60 day extension possible; tax paid with the return or in four instalments on the 15th of the 4th, 6th, 9th and 12th months

What it means for you

Request before 15 April. You lose the instalment option, so plan for one payment. Example: KWD 30,000 due in full at mid June instead of four instalments.

What to do

  1. Request before the deadline.
  2. Plan one lump sum payment.
  3. Finish the audit.
  4. File within the extension.

We can do this for youAnnual income tax declaration, payment and assessment for foreign companies: KWD 1,500
