Changing the company PIC after a director leaves
Our director resigned. How do we change the PIC in Coretax?
The situation
The PIC must be a current officer. When a director leaves, the company updates officer data with the new deed and appoints a new PIC.
The law
- PMK 81/2024 on tax provisions for implementing the Core Tax Administration System (Coretax): In force 1 January 2025; Coretax registration, returns, payment due dates aligned to the 15th of the following month, prepopulated returns and deposit balance
- Art 2, Law 6/1983 on General Provisions and Tax Procedures (KUP Law), as last amended by Law 6/2023: Every taxpayer must register for an NPWP; for resident individuals the NIK serves as the NPWP (Art 2(1a))
What it means for you
Until the change is made, the former director may still have access, which is a control risk. File the deed of change and Ministry of Law approval, update officer data in Coretax, and remove the old director's roles. Then the new director requests a company certificate if needed.
What to do
- Get the deed of change and Ministry of Law receipt.
- Update officer data in Coretax or at the KPP.
- Appoint the new PIC and remove old roles.
- Check the digital certificate still works.
Leaving an ex director with access risks unauthorised filings.
