Refund stuck because of bank account validation

Updated . Every paid answer is checked by a CA. Free AI answers are labelled until a CA verifies them.

Find

Refunds are paid only to a bank account in your name that is added in the registration and validated through PFMS. If validation fails, the refund cannot be disbursed until a valid account is added.

Provisions

Rule 10A, CGST Rules 2017; Rule 89, CGST Rules 2017

Analysis

Validation fails when the account holder name does not match the registered legal name, the IFSC has changed after a bank merger, or the account is closed. Update the account through a non-core amendment and choose it in the refund. If the refund was already sanctioned, write to the officer with the new details.

Close

  1. Check the validation status of each account in your registration
  2. Correct the account or add a new one through a non-core amendment
  3. Select the validated account in future claims
  4. Write to the officer if a sanctioned refund is stuck
