Analysis

If CPC ignored a TDS credit that is now in 26AS, use rectification. If you forgot to report FD interest of ₹18,000, a revised return for AY 2026-27 can still be filed up to 31 March 2027, with a fee if filed after 31 December 2026. If CPC added income you dispute on facts, appeal within 30 days. The rectification FAQ itself says not to use rectification for errors a revised return can fix.
