Check that the challan was paid under Other Receipts (500) and the correct sub-type, for the same PAN. Example: fee paid on Monday through net banking; the link request on Tuesday shows payment not found; trying again the following week works. If it still fails after a week, confirm the head on the challan and raise a grievance.
