Updated . Every paid answer is checked by a CA. Free AI answers are labelled until a CA verifies them.

Find

A confirmed demand appears in Part II of your electronic liability register. You pay it from the cash or credit ledger against that demand reference, using the payment option for the demand under Services > Ledgers, and the register then shows it as paid. Check the current screen flow on the portal manual.

Provisions

Sec 49, CGST Act 2017; Sec 78, CGST Act 2017; Rule 142(5), CGST Rules 2017

Analysis

Tax can be paid from the credit ledger where eligible, but interest and penalty go from cash. Before paying, check that any earlier DRC-03 is linked through DRC-03A, so you do not pay twice. After payment, download the updated liability register as proof that the demand is closed.

Close

  1. Open the electronic liability register and find the demand reference
  2. Link any earlier DRC-03 through DRC-03A
  3. Add cash by PMT-06 for interest and penalty
  4. Pay against the demand reference and download the updated register
