Find

No. If the officer does not act within 15 working days of your application, the amendment is treated as approved. The same applies 7 working days after your reply to a query.

Provisions

Rule 19(2) to 19(5), CGST Rules 2017

Analysis

Rule 19 provides deemed approval when the officer takes no action within the time limit. Count working days, not calendar days, and leave out public holidays. Example: filed on 1 October, the 15 working days end around 23 October depending on holidays; after that the portal should show the change as approved. If it still shows pending, raise a grievance on the portal and write to the jurisdictional office.
