How to upload a reply on e-Proceedings

Updated . Every paid answer is checked by a CA. Free AI answers are labelled until a CA verifies them.

Find

Replies are filed on the e-Filing portal under Pending Actions > e-Proceedings. Each attachment can be up to 5 MB, up to 10 attachments, and up to 50 MB in total. The response does not need e-verification.

Provisions

Sec 142(1) (now Sec 268(1)); Sec 144B (now Sec 273)

Analysis

Write a covering reply that answers each point of the notice in order, then attach supporting PDFs named by point, for example 'Q3 bank statement HDFC'. Compress scanned files so each stays under 5 MB. If you have more than 10 files, merge related ones. A response cannot be edited after submission, so check everything first.

Close

  1. Log in and open Pending Actions > e-Proceedings
  2. Select the notice and click Submit Response
  3. Type or upload the covering reply and attach up to 10 PDFs
  4. Submit and download the acknowledgement
