Checking if PAN is linked with Aadhaar

Updated . Every paid answer is checked by a CA. Free AI answers are labelled until a CA verifies them.

Find

The e-Filing portal has a Link Aadhaar Status option under Quick Links that works without logging in. It shows whether the PAN is linked, the request is pending with UIDAI, or it is not linked.

Provisions

Sec 262, Income-tax Act 2025 (old Sec 139AA); Sec 262, Income-tax Act 2025 (old Sec 139AA)

Analysis

Enter your PAN and Aadhaar to see the status. Example: the status reads not linked, so the PAN may already be inoperative, and your next refund or FD interest TDS will be affected. If it shows pending with UIDAI, wait a few days and check again. Logged-in users can also see the status under Profile.

Close

  1. Open the e-Filing portal home page
  2. Go to Quick Links > Link Aadhaar Status
  3. Enter PAN and Aadhaar and view the status
  4. If not linked, start the linking process
  5. Recheck after a few days if pending
