Getting a TRC with 120 days
I was in the UAE for only 120 days this year. Can I still get a tax residency certificate?
The situation
You can be a UAE tax resident with 90 days if you hold a UAE residence permit, or are a UAE or GCC national, and have a permanent place of residence or a job or business in the UAE.
The law
- Cabinet Decision 85 of 2022: 90 days with permit and home or job
What it means for you
Example: 120 days, a UAE residence visa, and a rented flat in Dubai meet the 90-day test. Without a home or job here, you would need another test. Upload your lease and entry and exit report.
What to do
- Count days in the 12-month period.
- Confirm visa and home or job.
- Collect lease and entry and exit report.
- Apply on EmaraTax.
